Meeting Change
There will be no monthly directors meeting on Thursday, August 5th because of the summer picnic meeting schedule two days later for August 7th. Please read below for more information.
Email Changes
The new contact email for Maine Maple Producers Association is hilltopboilers@myfairpoint.net This change was made on June 4th. The current old email will remain in place as well, until June 15th, when that will expire. Thank you for noting these changes on your contacts lists.
Production Reporting
New England Agricultural Statistics Survey is currently collecting 2010 statistics for syrup production from all states at this point. If you have not been called or did not receive a survey form in the mail, you can contact them directly at 1-800-642-9571. They are will ask questions about 2010 production and seasonal conditions. They will also be looking for information on how much syrup was sold in 2009 and the prices each size container was sold for. This information will be vital if Maine is to remain a top syrup producing state.
You are invited
The directors of SMMSA and MMPA are joining together and hosting an all day event on August 7th at the Cumberland Fairgrounds. The day will begin at 9:00 AM and will end around 4:30 PM. Speakers from the Proctor Maple Research Center will lead two technical sessions in the morning. Lunch will be served around noon time. Each association will hold their business meeting in the afternoon so that members from each group can learn more about the function of the other. Everyone is invited to attend, member or not. August Monthly MMPA Meeting
Please join the directors of MMPA on August 7, 2010 at 9:00 AM, at the Cumberland Fairgrounds, for our monthly business meeting. Feel free to come and be a part of these informative meetings. Active participation is always encouraged and appreciated. Meetings will have a short technical session followed by a business meeting and refreshments.
